Flying fox win: death grids ordered to be removed

A North Queensland farmer will have to dismantle the electric grids in his lychee orchard after he allegedly admitted to the media that he had killed thousands of spectacled flying foxes.

The decision was made in the case of Booth vs Yardley brought by conservationist Dr Carol Booth and supported by the EDO team and barrister Chris McGrath.   Find out more.

Duck and quail hunting ban passed in Parliament - hooray!

The campaign to ban the recreational shooting of duck and quail ended with a conservation victory when the Queensland Parliament passed amendments to the Nature Conservation Act 1992.

Push for rare wallaby population boom

Project Kial, run by Australian Animals Care and Education Inc., is waiting for EPA approval to start a breeding program of the critically endangered bridled nailtail wallaby, found in the wild in only a few restricted reserves in Central Queensland.

Sign the Protecting Our Bushland campaign (on paper)

The Queensland Government ePetition Protecting Our Bushland closed on Friday 25 November with a total of 1083 signatures.

You can still sign the paper petition and add your name to the 1500 signatories of the hard copy petition or send a postcard to your political representative.
