Welcome to the first 2008 my.Wildlife eBulletin. Find out how you can get involved in wildlife this year: perhaps work for Wildlife Queensland, tell the government how to look after Moreton Bay, or check out the many opportunities in our diary listings.

Congratulations to the winners of the December 2007 eBulletin competition: David Gibson and Stuart Macdonald. By correctly answering that the peacock mantis shrimp has 2 vision receptors and that the cover photo of Summer 2007 Wildlife Australia Magazine was taken in Bali, both winners receive a copy of KamaSEAtra: secrets of sex in the sea.

Expansion = koala extinction

Redland Shire koalas need our support to protect their habitat from urban development. Redland Shire Council wants to develop bushland in koala population areas despite evidence that habitat loss is a major cause of plummeting koala populations in the shire. Wildlife Queensland Bayside Branch wants to stop them.
