Welcome to my.wildlife 18 – it’s full of special offers. As we go to press, changes to the priorities and position of the environment and conservation under the government of the new Queensland Premier are emerging. Wildlife Queensland has already written a reminder list to Premier Bligh about what needs to be done. You can read that list via this issue of my.Wildlife.
We are also offering you a giant frog – a giant frog poster that is. Find out more about this special offer for eBulletin subscribers below.
Come on a very special camping weekend with Wildlife Queensland – we’re inviting everyone to join us, and an expert professional guide, to the best birdwatching spot in Australia. |
Queensland Premier’s To Do list
Wildlife Queensland congratulates Premier Bligh on her accession to the leadership of the government of Queensland. We’ve taken this opportunity to remind the new premier of the environmental challenges and priorities facing her in her new role.

Girrimay National Park declared
Congratulations also go to all parties involved in the recent gazetting of the new Girrimay National Park in FNQ.
The park lies along the shores of the Hinchinbrook Passage, adjacent to the controversial Port Hinchinbrook development, a location that has left it with a legacy of problems.
The park contains important habitat for the mahogany glider, one of Australia’s most endangered mammals. |
The storyteller and the seasons
The Spring issue of Wildlife Australia Magazine highlights a friendship of shared knowledge, insights, stories and illustrations – and the six seasons of an Aboriginal calendar. A PhD student and an Aboriginal knowledge-holder tell the story of their artwork based on traditional Indigenous knowledge and a natural history illustrator’s sharp eyes.
Don’t miss the Spring issue of WAM, due out early October, subscribe now. |
