Flying
foxes in the High Court
The future of wildlife in Queensland will be decided this month when the High Court hears an appeal against
a 2005 judgement that a farmer who killed thousands of flying foxes was not contravening the Nature Conservation
Act 1992. The decision will either strengthen Queensland wildlife laws or allow widespread killing of wildlife.
