Centenary of Bunya Mountains Celebrations. Join in a weekend of celebrations at Queensland’s second oldest national park. Saturday’s official welcome will be followed by a sausage sizzle lunch and afternoon of guest speakers, walks, displays and kids’ activities. Centenary of Parks OUT  BACK. As part of this year’s Centenary of Parks celebrations, EPA rangers are hosting a series of overnight adventures in Queensland’s parks. Join EPA rangers on tours that uncover hidden treasures in outback parks, and discover the abundance of life and history in the remote and arid landscapes of Queensland.

Annual Platypus Survey and Family Environment Festival. Moggill Creek Catchment Group invites you to a day-long festival of wildlife, healthy waterways, guest speakers, kids activities, and sizzling sausages. Wildlife Queensland will be there too with our famous fun platypus display. Volunteers are invited to participate in the platypus survey.

'Mosquito Control' with Mike Muller. Mike Muller is the Brisbane City Council’s Medical Entomologist with its Vegetation and Pest Services, and is one of Australia's experts in Mosquito control.  He will talk about his work, which requires him to not only look at the impacts on humans, but on the impacts to wildlife as well.

'Talking Wildlife' with Ric Nattrass. Ric is the Guest Speaker at the Brisbane Branch AGM.  He is an extremely lively, interesting and entertaining speaker.  He’s been answering weird and wonderful questions on wildlife on the ABC for more than a decade, he’s published books on the topic, he was a wildlife ranger with Queensland Parks & Wildlife for around 20 years, and he’s entertained people on environment walks and tours.  Be prepared for an interesting night.

29th Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation

Creating - Community – Collaboration.In 2009, the biggest international symposium on sea turtle biology and conservation will be held in Australia for the first time ever. Australia's world renowned sea turtle biologist Dr Colin Limpus is the current International Sea Turtle Society President and host of the 2009 symposium. He and the Australian Organising Committee invite you all to attend.
