Every year Wildlife Queensland recognises the achievements and efforts of our members through our special award ceremony held at the annual dinner in September. The 2011 nominations are now open.

The categories are:

• A successful Wildlife Qld campaign in your region
• A new or ongoing Wildlife Qld project involving the community
• The Margaret Thorsborne Award for an outstanding contribution by a member.

This last award has been named in honour of our patron, Margaret Thorsborne as a way of acknowledging members who have made an outstanding contribution to the Society, to conservation and to the community. These members have, like Margaret, led by example and have been an inspiration to others both within the society and in their respective communities.

We invite you all to consider sending in a nomination for one of these awards. All we need is 150-200 words telling us why you think this person, project, campaign or event deserves recognition. The nomination can come from a non-member but the subject must be a Wildlife Qld member or activity.
